Common Questions About Counselling & Psychotherapy

Counselling and psychotherapy are related services, but they are not exactly the same. We offer both approaches, with counselling often addressing specific concerns and psychotherapy supporting more in-depth therapeutic work. The approach used is based on your goals and the type of support you are seeking.

Your first counselling session focuses on understanding your concerns, relevant background, and goals for therapy. Our mental health professionals ask guided questions to gather this information and explain how we work. You are welcome to ask questions at any point, and the session is structured to support clarity and comfort.

The frequency of counselling sessions is determined based on your goals and availability. We work with you to establish a schedule that reflects your needs and can be adjusted over time. Session frequency is reviewed as therapy progresses to maintain consistency and relevance.

Counselling sessions typically last about 50 minutes. This standard session length allows for focused discussion within a consistent structure. We use this time to address your concerns in a way that supports continuity from one session to the next.

Choosing the right therapist involves identifying a provider whose experience and approach align with your needs. We offer therapist profiles to support this process and can guide you toward an appropriate match. The goal is to connect you with a therapist suited to your concerns and preferences.
